Mission Statement:

  • We exist to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our school, community, nation and world. We will do this by providing opportunities for experiential learning for anyone associated with Concordia to take part in. We do this in response of the love that Jesus Christ has shown for us.

Goals:

  • Every year we will facilitate and take part in two January mission trips, one overseas and one stateside. We will also work to share the Gospel through multiple activities of service throughout each semester.

Leaders of CMS :

Concordia Mission Society has seven Exec Board positions. They are as follows:

  • President: serves as overseas coordinator and secretary for meetings.
  • Stateside Coordinator: main contact person for January trip stateside, makes contacts with missionaries we will be working with, organizes travel to stateside location.
  • Mini Mission Coordinator: organizes and leads mission opportunities in the community, leads at least one mini mission per semester.
  • Fundraising Coordinator: Looks for and communicates to CMS unique fundraising activities for CMS’s main trips in January. Contact person for outside agencies that would have opportunities for us to earn money.
  • Spiritual Advisor: Prays for group, leads group devotions, creates and facilitates when possible devotions during the January Mission trips
  • Treasurer: Keeps track of CMS’s budget also keeps track of who has paid what towards the major trips. Works closely with Fundraising Coordinator to make sure that we are legal with all of our Fundraising.

Before the school year begins, the President and Stateside Coordinator will have mission trip locations picked and be in communication with the missionaries there. Elections will be held between March and April each year for the following years board to give Exec Board sufficient time to pick a location for the following year and ask any questions that they might have.

Membership:

  • Everyone from campus is welcomed to be a member of CMS.
